Never Quit Attitude, a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Mindset

The Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Journey and the road to the BJJ Black Belt is a long term commitment.  Knowing this, it is important to get the mind right.  Mindset is everything.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Journey

Practitioners in the Art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu work hard to stay on the path of advancement.  It takes many thousands of hours and years of training and dedication to gain the skills and the performance of a BJJ Black Belt.

From Day one of training, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu students are taught the basics and fundamentals of BJJ.  But ask just about any BJJ Black Belt what they are working on in their game, and most will tell you, they are working on and refining what they know of the 'Basics'.

Congrats to Ray Sloan on receiving the coveted Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt!  In a Co-Promotion with BJJ Black Belts Michio Grubbs & Chris Haueter, Raymond Sloan has been awarded the distinction of representing the Art of Jiu Jitsu at the Black Belt level.

Dedicated Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Athlete

For most, the BJJ Purple Belt is the toughest to obtain.  The Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Purple Belt is the beginning stages of the advanced practitioner.  This level is more than just 'knowing' techniques, but it's display of flow, of stringing techniques together in a functioning flow against a fully resisting opponent.

Congrats Dan Hoopes for obtaining the 4th degree Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Purple Belt!

Professor Chris Haueter received his BJJ Black Belt in 1996 from Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt, Rigan Machado and is one of the first 12 Americans to receive the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt in the Untied States.

Chris will tell you that a Black Belt is a White Belt that never quit.
