Pan Ams Day 3, Sat Mar 26

Pan Ams 2011!
We got to see a lot of tough, tough matches today! National Level tournament, at it's finest!

Charlie and Beth Ann came to support!








Brothers, Dan and Doug, also were there early!







Andy = Ready!






Andy got off to a great start. He got the takedown and dominated most of the match!




Great scrambles and a great fight between the two. Unfortunately, Andy, with the lead at 2-0, gets caught in the Triangle and had to tap with 9 seconds left! Arghhhh!!!! Can't win them all! :-(

Chris looked Great! He looked Phenominal!!! He won his first match 22-0 in 5 minutes!!!!!




Then went on to win the Finals against a tough, tough opponent, 5-0!

Melissa Haueter is ready for tomorrow!!! She will fight in the Brown/Black Female Light Feather Division! Good Luck Melissa! She just had a Baby just a shy over a year ago!!! She worked her ass off (and melted off all the fat!) to get ready for this tournament! Go Melissa!

Also fighting tomorrow is Charlie Grant in the Brown Belt Senior 1, Medio-Pesado Division. Good luck Charlie!


No Class tomorrow, Sunday Mar 27, we'll be at the Pans for Day 4! See you Monday!

Pan Ams Day 2, Fri Mar 25

Great Matches at the Pans!!!
Day 2 of the Pan Ams has Max and Dan competing, representing our team. Lot's of awesome matches and the level of competition is extraordinary!
Max was in the very first group of matches for the day and he was excited!



Max was tough! He won a solid match 5-0 against a very game opponent! He then lost his next match by points to a very good guy. All in all, Max was super happy with his performance and we were very proud of him!




Dan had a great tournament! He won his first match in a hard fought 3-0 victory!

Dan went on to win his next match 10-0! but lost his third match to a very good guy! He was happy with his performance and we were happy for him !!!






Jaime had to feed me because I was so nervous for the guys!

tomorrow, Andy will be competing in the Master Purple Belt, Pesado Division and also Chris Haueter will be competing in the Senior 3 Black Belt Leve Division. Wish them luck!

Pan Ams Day 1, Thurs Mar 24

First Day of the Pan Ams! I wanna say thanks to Sophia for taking the Pics to share!
Dan, Jaime and Armando! Dan went up to help coach, warm-up and support Jaime and Armando!

Jaime competed in the Adult Blue Belt, Leve division and started fighting around 11:30 am. He weighed in about 5 lbs under and was as ready as can be. But unfortunately, made a major mistake off a single leg attempt and got caught in a triangle that he battled to get out but had to tap :-( I want to congratulate Jaime for working so hard in preparing for the tournament and putting it on the line...win or lose.




Armando competed in the Adult Blue Belt, Super-Pesado Division and looked outstanding! He won his first match by submission in hard fought battle






He lost his next match by 2 points and unfortunately, the tournament is single elimination. Armando was hampered by severe cramping that he was dealing with all week :-( Congrats Armando on the Great Showing Buddy!



Armando, Jaime and Sophia all went to the Yard House afterwards to celebrate the hard fought matches! (Friend in the background looking on...)

Tomorrow, Max Sheppard will be competing in the Masters Blue Belt, Pluma Division and Dan Hoopes will competing in the Masters Blue Belt, Medio Division. Wish Them luck!
