SELF DEFENSE JIU JITSU Training in North County San Diego
The first 3 months of 2013 went by fast! A lot of the guys and gals are keeping on track with their training and working hard to get to the next skill level.
Part of the training regimen is the rest and recovery. In between some intense training bouts, make sure to drink lots of water throughout the day. How much? A sedentary person (someone with little activity) should drink at least half gallon a day. So, as a combat athlete, in my opinion, the minimum should be at least a gallon a day. Everyone has a different tolerance level so it will be what you are comfortable with but for my own, personal water consumption, I drink 1 1/2 - 2 gallons per day. On the Super Intense days, I will drink more.
Make sure to alternate the intensity of the workouts, especially if you are training with a lot of frequency throughout the week. Going 100% every single time you train will lead to over-training and burnout. For the majority of my training, I will alternate between 60% to 80% Intensity so I can continue training with multiple sessions per day, throughout the week.
