Marco Alvarado, 2014 IBJJF Brown Belt No Gi World Champion

We had the honor of having Marco Alvarado (won last years IBJJF No-Gi World Championships at Brown Belt) as a guest instructor at Excel Jiu Jitsu MMA Oceanside.  Awesome No Gi BJJ class!

Learning the Jiu Jitsu 'language' happens one class at a time.  It's best to learn Jiu Jitsu in little chunks.  There is so much to learn.  Learning the Martial Art of Jiu Jitsu takes a long time and that is why it's best to set goals to keep motivation high and keep dedication strong.

Marco Alvarado taught a very technical No Gi Jiu Jitsu class last Thursday, April 9th, that put all the techniques in sequence and together in a system, that made it a lot easier to retain the information.

"It's important to stay focused and keep an open mind when it comes to learning BJJ."

The Jiu Jitsu lifestyle goes beyond just training.  It's about taking care of yourself, making friends, and striving to put your 'best foot forward'.

Putting your mind to learning and improving every week will help you to improve mind, body and soul.  Our over-all team goal is to improve at least 1% every week and this requires a positive attitude.
